Day after Thanksgiving 2009

Up bright and early again...but this time, it wasn't because of the nieces and nephews. We all stayed up and watched a rather disturbing movie, The Mist. It kept me up all night. Every little noise I heard startled me. By the way, if you have not watched this movie, don't bother...it's awful and has a terrible ending.

Anyway, we got breakfast from the famous J & J's BBQ...their bacon, egg, and cheese tacos were absolutely delicious and so were their migas (special breakfast tacos with tortilla strips). Wendy and baby Alex arrived around 10:00 in the morning so we were very excited. She spent Thanksgiving with Mark's side of the family and drove down early this morning.

We always have a great time when all the sisters get together. Since my little sister and her family live in San Antonio, and my oldest sister and her family live in Austin, we rarely get together except for holidays such as these. Great times!

The best news of all today was that the Trinity Trojans football team beat Arlington Martin in the semifinals of high school football. We were bummed about missing the game since we were out of town, but we were able to listen to the game on the radio. They ended up winning 37-19. We will play the winner of the Arlington-Coppell game scheduled for tomorrow. I'm hoping they will go all the way to state. GO TRINITY!!!

Various pictures from today:

Bryce took Freeway for a walk down the street...he was so proud of himself.

Lucas reading "Dig, Dig, Digging" to baby Alex. He has the entire book memorized word for word...very impressive.

The kids enjoyed playing "Pirate Pop-Up" I jumped every time the pirate popped out of the barrel.

Thanksgiving Day 2009

What a great day! We had a wonderful feast prepared mostly by my brother-in-law, Aaron. The turkey was delicious and so was the rest of the meal. My job was the green bean casserole...which I just prepared using the back of the French's Fried Onion cans. My little sister Vivien, prepared the spiral ham and my mom took care of her famous stuffing. We also had rolls, white-trash-a-roll, fresh cranberries, dressing and Waldorf salad. It was all very delicious. We had various desserts made by my dad. He picked numerous pecans from our backyard and made pecan pie, pistachio, pineapple, and pecan pie, and cheesecake. Carol made the traditional pumpkin pie. We had our big Thanksgiving meal at 3:00 and I was still stuffed by 9:30 that evening. I didn't even have pumpkin pie until late that evening.

Thanksgiving 2009 - Day 2

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! All the nieces and nephews woke up around 7 am....BRIGHT & EARLY!!!!! We started off the morning with a great big breakfast. We had eggs, bacon, canadian bacon, fruits, sausage pinwheels, Amish bread, freshly squeezed apple, carrot, and pear juice, and coffee. We are eating our Thanksgiving meal at 3:00 so we had to eat a big breakfast and snack until 3:00.

We went for a mid-morning stroll to get the mail. It turned into a 30 minute ordeal just to get everyone ready to go. The kids wanted to ride in the wagon and strollers. The tires to the stroller was flat so we had to get air pumped into it. Alayna and Bryce waited very patiently in the wagon with Ah-gong while waiting for Uncle Sean and daddy to pump some air into the tires.

When we got back from our walk, I challenged Sean to a friendly game of JENGA. Guess who won? Yep, you guessed it, ME! Maybe next time Sean.

Thanksgiving 2009 - Day 1

Greetings from Austin.....my oldest sister and her family live right outside of Austin in Leander, Texas. I drove down from Fort Worth with my parents Wednesday morning and my little sister and her family got here around 1:30 from San Antonio. The Reedys are back in Hurst for Thanksgiving with Mark's family. We miss them a lot!
Here is a picture of Bryce wondering what it's like for Freeway to be in his kennel. More pictures to come.....

Scrapbooking Retreat 2009!

Here are some pictures from our Scrapbooking Retreat in Weatherford this weekend. The theme was "Super Heroes!" Our wonderful Susan did another awesome job putting together a wonderful weekend.

The "Incredibles" room consisted of Rae-Ann Daniel, Julie Totten, Wendy Reedy, and me. Andrea Trout was our "honorary" roommate. We had a blast and can't wait for the next one in the Spring of 2010.

This is Julie in her "Incredible Mom" costume!

Trunk or Treat!

Our church had Trunk or Treat this year and it was my first year to take part in it. Since I wasn't going to dress up, I figure I would dress Freeway up. I got his costume at Walmart and he was the hit of the night. He was a very good sport and let all the kids pet him. Everyone wanted to take pictures with him. He had a great time and we had over 3,000 people come through that night. Awesome job Center Point Church!

Vocabulary Parade!

Instead of dressing up for Halloween at our school, the students dressed up as a "vocabulary word." All the teachers had to dress up as well. Since we had a 7 man team, we were a "LANDMASS" and we each dressed up as one of the continents.

North America - Miss Casey; South America - Miss Tiffanie; Africa - Miss Karyn; Asia - Miss Betty; Antartica - Miss Jennifer; Europe - Miss Kim; and Australia - Miss Niki....

Western Day!

We had Western Day at school right before our school carnival. Our team sure does like to dress
up! YeeHaw!!!!!
